Terms & Conditions

RentZone operates as an online marketplace/intermediary platform that connects individuals or businesses who wish to rent out vehicles or other items (“Owners”) with individuals or businesses who wish to rent or use those vehicles or items (“Renters”).

We are not the owner, supplier, rental company, agent, or operator of the vehicles or items listed on the Platform, unless expressly stated otherwise.

Our role is primarily to facilitate communication, listings, bookings, and transactions between Owners and Renters.

RentZone does not own, possess, inspect, maintain, operate, or control the vehicles or other rental items listed by Owners.

We do not guarantee:

• The condition, quality, safety, suitability, legality, or availability of any vehicle or item.
• The accuracy or completeness of information provided by an Owner or Renter.
• That a vehicle or item will be suitable for a particular purpose.
• That an Owner or Renter will fulfill their obligations.
• That a transaction will be completed successfully.
• That a vehicle or item is free from defects, damage, or mechanical problems.

Owners are solely responsible for ensuring that their vehicles and items are safe, legally permitted to be rented, properly maintained, and accurately described.

Any rental agreement, payment, handover, return, damage claim, dispute, cancellation, or other arrangement between an Owner and a Renter is primarily an agreement between those parties.

RentZone is not a party to the rental agreement unless expressly stated otherwise.

Users are responsible for conducting their own due diligence before entering into a transaction.

Owners and Renters are solely responsible for their actions, decisions, and obligations arising from any transaction.

Users must ensure that they comply with all applicable laws, regulations, licensing requirements, insurance requirements, identification requirements, and contractual obligations.

For vehicle rentals, the Owner and Renter are responsible for ensuring that the vehicle is legally permitted to be rented and driven and that the Renter has the appropriate licence, insurance, and authorization required by applicable law.

The Platform does not independently guarantee the condition, safety, quality, or suitability of any vehicle or item.

Before accepting a rental, Renters should independently inspect the vehicle or item and confirm that it meets their requirements.

Owners are responsible for providing accurate information regarding the condition, specifications, availability, and restrictions applicable to their vehicle or item.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, RentZone shall not be responsible for any loss, damage, accident, theft, injury, death, property damage, financial loss, mechanical failure, or other consequence arising from the use, possession, rental, operation, or transportation of a vehicle or item listed on the Platform.

Any dispute relating to damage, loss, accident, injury, payment, cancellation, or breach of a rental agreement should primarily be resolved between the Owner and Renter.

Nothing in these Terms is intended to exclude or limit liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited under applicable law.

RentZone may charge a commission, service fee, listing fee, booking fee, or other applicable fee for providing its Platform services.

The applicable commission or fee will be communicated to the relevant user before the applicable transaction is completed.

The commission is charged for providing access to and/or facilitating the Platform and does not mean that RentZone owns, rents, operates, guarantees, or assumes responsibility for the vehicle or item.

Where payments are processed through the Platform or a third-party payment provider, RentZone may facilitate the payment process.

Unless expressly stated otherwise, receiving or processing a payment does not make RentZone responsible for the underlying rental agreement or the condition or performance of the vehicle or item.

Users remain responsible for complying with the applicable payment, refund, cancellation, and rental terms.

Where the Platform provides identity, document, vehicle, licence, or other verification services, such verification is provided as an additional platform service and should not be considered a guarantee of the user's identity, reliability, financial ability, driving ability, or suitability.

Users should conduct their own verification and due diligence before entering into a rental agreement.

RentZone may, at its discretion, assist users in communicating or resolving disputes. However, we are not obligated to resolve disputes between Owners and Renters unless expressly agreed otherwise.

Users acknowledge that RentZone is not responsible for enforcing private agreements between users.

Users must not use the Platform for unlawful, fraudulent, dangerous, or unauthorized activities.

Users must not provide false information, upload misleading listings, misuse another person's identity, or list vehicles/items that they do not have the legal right to rent.

RentZone reserves the right to remove listings, suspend accounts, or terminate access where we reasonably believe that these Terms have been violated.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, RentZone, its owners, directors, employees, representatives, affiliates, and service providers shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or other losses arising from transactions or interactions between Platform users.

This includes, without limitation, loss of income, loss of profits, loss of business, loss of property, loss of data, personal injury, vehicle damage, item damage, or other losses arising from a rental transaction.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where such exclusion or limitation is prohibited by applicable law.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, users agree to indemnify and hold harmless RentZone, its owners, directors, employees, representatives, and affiliates from claims, losses, damages, liabilities, costs, and expenses arising from:

• Their use of the Platform.
• Their violation of these Terms.
• Their violation of applicable laws or regulations.
• Their rental transactions with other users.
• Their negligence, misconduct, or fraudulent activities.
• Any dispute between the user and another Platform user.

We do not guarantee that the Platform will always be available, uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.

We may modify, suspend, restrict, or discontinue any part of the Platform at any time where reasonably necessary.

By creating an account and selecting “I Agree to the Terms & Conditions”, the user confirms that they:

1. Have read and understood these Terms & Conditions.
2. Agree to be legally bound by these Terms, to the extent permitted by applicable law.
3. Understand that RentZone primarily operates as an intermediary platform.
4. Understand that rental agreements are generally between Owners and Renters.
5. Accept responsibility for their own decisions and actions when using the Platform.
6. Understand that RentZone does not guarantee the condition, safety, quality, legality, or performance of vehicles or other rental items listed by users.

We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time. Updated terms will be published on the Platform and may be communicated to users where required by applicable law.

Continued use of the Platform after the effective date of updated Terms constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms, subject to applicable law.

These Terms shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of Sri Lanka, unless otherwise required by applicable law.

Any disputes shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the applicable courts of Sri Lanka, subject to any mandatory rights available to users under applicable law.
