Sri Lanka travel: stays and transport

Plan your Sri Lanka trip with the right mix of rented stays and vehicles — sample routes and booking tips.

Most visitors combine a few nights in Colombo or Negombo, hill-country time in Kandy or Ella, and a south-coast stretch in Galle or Mirissa. RentZone lets you book stays and vehicles in each hub without switching platforms.

Sample two-week route

Days 1–2: Negombo or Colombo (recover from flight, rent a car). Days 3–5: Kandy and Nuwara Eliya. Days 6–8: Ella and tea country. Days 9–14: Galle, Mirissa or Bentota beach time.

Adjust pacing for monsoon patterns — southwest coast is drier roughly December–March; east coast differs.

Booking stays

Properties list minimum nights, deposits and house rules. Read cancellation terms on each listing. Peak season fills early — book key dates first, then add transport.

Booking transport

Match vehicle type to your group and luggage. Vans suit families; bikes and tuk-tuks work for short coastal hops. Return the vehicle with the fuel level agreed with the host.
